Grade 3 Prayers

Morning Offering
O Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary,
We offer you all our thoughts, words, actions and suffering of this day
we ask for your grace, that we may not offend You this day,
But that we may serve You by showing love and kindness to those we meet today. Amen.

Our Father
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you;
Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Glory Be
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen

Act of Contrition
O My God, I am heartily sorry for having offended you.
And I detest all my sins because of your just punishments,
but most of all, because they offend you, My God, who is all good
and worthy of all my love.  I firmly resolve, with the help of Your Grace,
to confess my sins, to do penance, and to amend my life.  Amen.

Prayer to the Holy Spirit
Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful,
and kindle in them the fire of your love.

The Apostles' Creed
I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord.
He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit,
and born of the Virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose again.
He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church,
the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

Homework Policy:

Homework assignments will be collected each day.  Parents will be sent a "No Homework" sheet when their child has failed to turn in their assignments.  The signed sheet along with the missed homework assignment needs to be turned in the following day.  Our goal is to help the children develop good homework habits and to accept responsibility for their actions.  We hope we can work together to achieve this.

Children will be given a homework agenda to write daily assignments. It is your child's responsibility to write down the daily assignments.  We encourage you to check the agenda on a nightly basis.

Each student will have a Homework folder to keep assignments in.

Tests will be given this year.  Students will know several days in advance and are welcome to take their textbooks home anytime to study.

Supplementary worksheets or assignments may be given for homework to provide additional practice on a skill we are covering.

Class Work:

Students are expected to sit quietly and listen to directions during lessons. They are to raise their hand when asking a question and to take turns talking during classroom discussions. During independent seatwork, they are to work quietly without disturbing others. When working in cooperative groups, they are to use low voices so that they do not disturb other classrooms around us.

Any unfinished class work will be assigned to be completed at home.

Reading Record:

It is the student's responsibility to read each night for at least 20 minutes. They are to record the date, book title, number of pages read and to obtain parent initials. The reading record will be collected ad checked on a weekly basis, usually on Fridays. We will record the completion of this assignment.
