Saint Gabriel School is very happy to now offer the
Accelerated Reader program to our students, grades
1-5. AR was purchased with funds provided by the PTO
and a grant awarded to St. Gabriel School.
Accelerated Reader (AR) offers a point system to
encourage our students to read more and improve
their reading comprehension.

Jennifer Tolley and Ellen Chase led the effort to
bring the Accelerated Reader program to our school.
The Accelerated Reading program is designed for
students in Grades 1-5. With their teacher's
guidance, students may choose a book that is
appropriate for their grade level. Levels have been
determined by the company that distributes the
Accelerated Reader program. After reading the book,
the students may take on-line reading comprehension
tests. They earn points (also determined by
Accelerated Reader) for each completed test.
Students may choose from 1,696 books that are
currently available in the school Library. For more
