Dress Code

MACS and Saint Gabriel Catholic School believe that an appropriate dress code is important in education our students in the necessity of good grooming and acceptable appearance, without an over emphasis on commercialization. Our students are, therefore, required to wear a school uniform, as outlined in the Saint Gabriel Catholic School Handbook (copies available in the school office). All clothing should be free of designs, emblems or labels, other than those of the school. If clothing worn to school deviates from the policy, the faculty member will notify the Principal, who will in turn notify the parent.

A Uniform Exchange Program, sponsored by the PTO, is held at the beginning of each school year and at the end of each school year. This program allows parents the opportunity to obtain a uniform jumper, a St. Gabriel sweatshirt or T-shirt, pants, shorts, or sweaters at no charge. Access to extra uniforms from this exchange program is available during the school year by contacting the school office.

Flynn and O'Hara Uniforms 1-800-441-4122

Provide the St. Gabriel logo uniform polo shirts, crew sweatshirts, and skorts as well as the plaid uniform jumper in two styles. They carry navy twill pants and shorts, white blouses and navy cardigan sweaters that are part of our uniform code. They also provide our P.E. uniform which consists of navy mesh shorts with the school logo, navy logo sweatpants, and a grey school t-shirt. This uniform must be worn on the days your child has P.E. class.

Educational Outfitters 704-525-3344

Provide several items with the St. Gabriel logo including: crew and hooded sweatshirts, polo shirts in white and grey, t-shirts and fleece vests and jackets.

Mass Days

Classes will attend mass monthly, sometimes twice if there is a Holy Day that month. Boys must wear long pants and a uniform shirt, girls must wear their uniform jumper (K-4) or skort (5).

Dress Down Days

The 2nd Tuesday of each month will be designated as a Dress Down Day. Students may wear jeans, shorts or appropriate length, skirts, or dresses instead of their uniform. No holes, cutoffs, or overalls are permitted. Long sleeved or short sleeved shirts may be worn but no tank tops, halters or spaghetti straps are allowed. No inappropriate logos or advertisements may be worn. All articles of clothing must be Catholic School appropriate. As always, no open toed or heeled shoes. Students may bring in a dollar to donate to the Student Council designated charity of the month.

Scouts/Brownies Meeting Days

Scout uniforms may be worn in place of school uniforms on the days when the scout troop meets.
