Academic Programs:

 

The following organizations are offering summer programs this year. There is no specific learning diagnosis needed for most of these programs. These agencies offer specific help with reading, writing, and math as well as fun learning programs. Study skills, handwriting/fine motor groups as well as language groups are also offered.

Summer Camps:

Kamp Gabe

*Ages: 3 1/2 years old through Rising 6th Graders (need to be potty-trained).

*Hours: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

*Weeks are July 7th, July 14th, and July 21st.

*Kamp Gabe is at St Gabriel School and is run by Sue Cornish, our teacher in 2A, so your child will be surrounded by familiar faces!

The camp offers a variety of activities including arts, crafts, sports, learning, and of course playtime!

YMCA Camps

*Ages: From 3 to 16 years old.

*Half day camps to Full Day camps with

some overnight options.

*The YMCA has camps all summer long. All

camps are Christian based. You don't have

to be a member to sign up.

*The YMCA offers a lot of different

specialty camps as well as more

traditional type camps. Some of the

different options include:

-All types of sports camps -basketball,

football, volleyball, golf, ultimate

Frisbee, soccer, tennis, swimming, etc.

-Swimming, cheerleading, gymnastics,

ballet, arts and crafts, animals,

drama, and music.

-Traditional camps with different

activities, sports, swimming, field

trips, and games.

Camp Wayfarer

*Ages: 6 to 16 years old.

*Summer Resident Camp.

*A traditional summer camp near

Hendersonville, NC. The activities include

water sports, sports, arts, outdoor

adventures, and Christian Life.

MACS Summer Camp

*Ages: 5 by June 14th, through

graduating 5th graders.

*7:30am to 6:00pm. Structured

camp hours are 9am to 4pm.

*MACS Summer Camp offers a wide

variety of activities in a safe and

stimulating environment and the kids

are encouraged to help choose what

activities they want to participate in.

*Activities include weekly theme

instructional classes, field trips, crafts,

sports, and games.

Summer at Providence Day School

*Ages: 3 to adult.

*Half day camps.

*Providence Day School might be most famous for it's well known Summer Camp Program that offers all kinds of different camps. Some of the many offered are:

The Fletcher School

*Ages: Rising 1st through 12th Grades.

*The Fletcher School offers individual tutoring, along with individualized instruction for children with learning disabilities and/or attention deficit disorders, and enrichment programs.

Camp Thunderbird

*Ages: 7 to 16 years old.

*Summer Resident Camp.

*Located at Lake Wylie, SC, and has been around since 1936.

*Thunderbird is a part of the YMCA. It offers a traditional camp experience including lots of Land and Water activities: roller sports, dance, archery, basketball, lacrosse, horseback riding, pottery, golf, drama, arts and crafts, water skiing, sailing, canoeing, swim lessons, funyaks, etc.
