Kindergarten Roundup

New kindergarten students will tour the kindergarten classrooms while the parents will learn about our uniforms, school supplies, Summer Buddy Program and meet our school counselors.  The Newcomers Team and our school administration will be available to answer any questions you may have.

Munchkins for Munchkins

New kindergarten students will have an opportunity to go through the lunch line for munchkins and milk and visit our playground.   Parents can meet their Summer Buddies!  Flynn and O'Hara will be here to take measurements and uniform orders.  Our uniform exchange will also be open.

Pizza Social (For new 1st – 5th grade families)

New families transferring into St. Gabriel will have an opportunity to get to meet other new parents and students.  Come and join us in the school cafeteria for an informal discussion about our school.

New Family Information Night - Parents Only Meeting (School Cafeteria)

An opportunity for parents to meet the school staff, learn more about our school policies and procedures and ask any questions that you may have.

Open House/Meet the Teacher Orientation

Class lists will be posted on the front doors of the school.  Bring your child to meet his/her new teacher, visit the classroom and stop by the PTO Fair to learn more about the PTO's programs and volunteer opportunities.

First Day of School – For all 1st-5th grade students but only for Kindergarten students with last names beginning with A – K

 

7: 00-7:35 a.m. = dropoff

7:55am = school day begins

12:00 noon = dismissal for kindergarten students only

2:20pm = First dismissal for grades 1-2 only

2:40pm = Second dismissal for grades 3-5 and their younger siblings

What Makes Us Special 

Religious Formation for our Students

 

  • Strong Catholic Religious Education curriculum.

 

  • A Class Mass is celebrated every week. All students attend Mass once a month.

 

  • Priests of St. Gabriel Church visit our classes each week. Pastor of St. Gabriel Church celebrates Mass in our classrooms, instructing students about each part of the Mass.

 

  • Kindergarten students have prayer partners from the fifth grade to attend Mass and participate in various programs throughout the year.

 

  • Preparation for the Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Holy Communion. Students participate in the sacrament of Reconciliation twice a year.

 

  • Positive Discipline Programs promote Christian behavior and celebrate the goodness found in children.

 

Support  for our School and Families

 

  • St. Gabriel PTO Fundraisers are used to enhance our school library, technology expansions and materials and various programs for our classrooms,, orientation of new students and families, seminars for our teachers and administrators., etc.

 

  • Over 250 Parent volunteers donate their time and talent to our school.

 

  • Parenting Program assists parents develop skills to become effective parents.

 

  • Parent Teacher Organization sponsors programs to promote community within our school: Muffins for Moms, Donuts for Dads, Moms In Touch, Consignment Sale, International Fair Book Fairs, Family Bingo, Father/Daughter Dance, Newcomers Orientation, Library Reading Time, Faith Advisory Committee, Parent-to-Parent

                       

Commitment to our Community

 

  • Every class assists St. Gabriel Parish with an outreach ministry during the year. Some students make Birthday cards for all parishioners over the age of 75 and others make Welcome to Our Parish cards for the newly baptized.

 

  • Student Council sponsors our school's Advent Ministry, Catherine's House, a transitional residence for homeless women and their children.

·    Our students participate in a monthly "Dress Down Day", sponsored by the Student Council, in which funds raised or donations collected are given to charities in our community.
